It is estimated that between 60 and 80 thousand people arrived in Spain during the Second World War, defying the high peaks, the adverse weather conditions and the surveillance on both sides of the border.
The Prison of Sort was, in many cases, the end of those who crossed the Pyrenees and fell into the hands of the government of Franco collaborator of the Nazi Regime.

Currently, the museum space disseminates what were the escapes and pays tribute to all those who starred in them.
It also offers a guided tour of the most emblematic spaces in the history of Sort, upon reservation.
